Letterhead of Society of Arts <Stamp: RECEIVED JUN 2 1892 Ans’d June 20th 1892> <Mailed July 5 1892> May 24. 1892 Dear Sir I have pleasure in informing you that, with the approval of the President His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, the Council of the Society of Arts have awarded you, in consideration of the distinguished Services you have rendered to the progress of Electric lighting, telegraphy, and the telephone, the Albert Medal of the Society, which it is their custom to bestow every year for distinguished merit in the promotion of Arts, Thomas Alva Edison Esqre., Orange New Jersey. U.S.A. Manufactures and Commerce. The medal will in due course be transmitted to you by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, or if any opportunity should occur of his presenting it to you personally, I am sure His Royal Highness, as in former instances, will be very pleased to do so.
