[TAE Marginalia] I have investigated the Sheaver[?] property while the Clover Hill may be a better mill the ore I don’t like + the freight position is bad I am afraid to tackle it TAE
Dear Sir:
The mining concentrating [illegible[ known as Clover Hill situated at Eaton[?] Lake N.Y. 45 miles north of New York City on the Harlton R.R. is owing to the death of the late Wm P. Sheaver[?] of Pittsburgh now for sale-The mine is in a good state of development the crushing + concentrating works were completed at a cost of about $110.00 and tested to the great satisfaction of Wm Sheaver just before his death. This property is doubtless one of the largest deposits of concentrating ore in southern New York + will be sold at much less than its value to close up the estate. I shall be pleased to have you send experts to examine the prospects at any time. A experimental is in charge who can give an [illegible] information. The concentrate crushed to 1/8” mesh can over 66% nest iron. We are prepared to name a price or entertain an offer.
Very truly,
H.E. Collins
