Referring to your favor of 7th Mr Edison desires me to state that you could not use an Electric motor to run a Sewing Machine unless you had a Steam Engine to operate an Electric Generator to supply current to the motor. This would be quite expensive.##As to Telephones you can get all works on the subject you refer to from D. Van Nostrand 23 Murray Street New York
