- "When click on doc get 20232, have to advance one image to get right doc] [This is based on TAE marg: D8503ZAB1] "Referring to your favor of 4th inst. We manufacture one candle lamps and I am at the present moment experimenting on a battery to be carried on the person. I intended it for the use of Coal Miners but it would also suit your purpose. I expect whithin a month to produce some ting practicable and will let you know when it is ready. A plumb line of fine platina wire could be rendered visible if you had a Dynamo or electric Light Plant at the top of the shaft and wires running into the tunnel. It would take a great deal of power. Perhaps by using a large cont? control with luminous paing and igniting a peice of magnesium wire for an instant light enough might obtained. I think such a light would last from a half to one hour and if the tunnes was very dark it would shine out plain and distinct."
