Title
[LB024461], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Annie Massie, May 25th, 1887
Editor's Notes
Your letter of April 5th has remained unanswered owing to my absence in Florida. I cannot fail to appreciate the honor which you do me in asking me to assist in carrying the honor you do me in asking me to assist in carrying out your generous ideas in regards to the benefit of the youngmen of your town. It would give me great pleasure were I in a position to assist you as you desire or a successful inventor is really a successful financier, and I myself am not exception to the rule. Besides this, my time is a usually occupied with my inventions that I have no opportunity to watch investments and I have no doubt that you will be able to find someone more worthy of your confidence and will gladly undertake to carry out your plans. I reget my inability to do so and beg to remain.
