- Editor's Notes
- "With reference to your letter of 19th inst., I regret to state that Mr. Edison has not perfected his instrument for the relief of the deaf, and it is impossible at this time to state definitely when it will be ready to be placed upon the market. For some time past the phonograph has absorbed so much of Mr. Edison’s time that his work in other directions has been more or less neglected. Now, however, that the phonograph is completed he will have an opportunity to take up some of his other experiments, and one of the first upon which he intends resuming vigorous work is the deaf instrument." Yours very truly, A.O. Tate
