Title
[LB029368], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Albert Scheible, May 10th, 1889
Editor's Notes
"In reply to your letter of 29th ultimo, I beg to say that Mr. Eiskemeyer's apparatus is a magneto electric induction apparatus, while Mr. Edison's is a purely magnetic arrangement. Mr. Edison has used this magnetic bridge for the detection of flaws in iron, and it is also useful for determining the best iron for dynamos and motors. In fact, its use is, technically speaking, to compare the permeability of iron with known standards." Yours very truly, A.O. Tate
