Title
[LB033048], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Francis I Palmer, October 10th, 1889
Editor's Notes
"Mr. Edison has received your letter of 8th instant, and in reply desires me to say that he is very much interested in the proposed International Exposition, and will help in every way possible to make it a success. He says, however, that it would be impracticable for him to give to your proposition the attention which would be necessary in order to produce the light effects which you suggest, for the reason that the Edison Exhibit will absorb most of his time and will call for so much of his personal attention as to preclude his undertaking any other work in connection with the Fair. ### The papers explanatory of your project came to hand this morning, and I am returning them by this mail. ### Thanking you on behalf of Mr. Edison for having given him an opportunity to examine your plan." I am, very truly yours, A.O. Tate
