Replying to your letter of 2nd instant, inquiring as to the standing of the Edison Manufacturing Company, Silver Lake, N.J., I beg to say that this concern has not yet been regularly incorporated. We call it the "Edison M'f'g. Co." for convenience of distinguishing it from the other interests centered here in Orange. It is Mr. Edison's personal enterprise, and will be incorporated in the future, but at the present its credit can be rated by Mr. Edison's personal standing. Yours truly, AO Tate
