Messrs. W.S. Mallory & Co.,
P.H. Randolph St., Chicago, Ill.,
Gentlemen:-
I have your letters of March 14th, and would say that we are pushing forward with your magnets and coarse contact machine. We have altered the face of the magnets for the present contact machine so as to conform to what Mr. Dickinson thinks Dr. Smarts would want. As soon as we get this ready shall be able to make you a shipment of that with the magnets.
In regard to the dynamo for driving your machines, we should advise you to wire a No. 12 instead of a No. 10. It is a little more costly, but ou have there a reserve of power instead of working at full capacity.
I have written to Mr. Insull in regard to this and will let you know in a day or two what has been done about it.
A No. 10 machine has a capacity of 200 amperes, and of course will run [illegible] when fully [illegible]. The No. 12 has a normal [illeible] f 220 amperes. Your machines if [illegible] will [illegible] 210 amperes.
Very truly yours
