Mr. James Meafil, Superintendent of Track,
D.L. & W. R.R Co., Hoboken, N.J.
Dear Sir:-
We desire to borrow for two or three days a rail bender, for use in establishing a curve on a line of track which we are running in the laboratory grounds for experimental railway purposes. We also wish to borrow for the same period a pinch bar for drawing spikes. Would you have the kindness to lend me these? If so, be good enough to send them to your Agent at Orange, from whom we will obtain them upon arrival.
Yours very truly,
(Signed Thos. A. Edison)
