May 2, 1891 J.U. Mackenzie Esq 502 Clinton Ave Brooklyn NY My dear MacKenzie I understand that your finances are not in the very best shape just at present, owing to your being ill. I enclose a check for one hundred dollars and note @ one year which you can send me after signing the same. I hope that long before this return matures you will have recovered your customary good health and that it will not again desert you. Sincerely yours Thos A. Edison
