Dear Sirs.
We return herewith your bill for casting [illegible text] cylinder the charge of 6 c per [lb?]. We consider it excessive, for the following reasons, the casting was full of blow holes some of their [illegible text] in with [patty?] and painted over so we would not notice them we were compelled to [fling?] it in several places to make it tight it was the worst piece of work we have ever seen and we would not have accepted it had not our will been what down awaiting this casting, as you know we accepted it under protest. We have never paid you more than 4 ½ c per lb for casting before & cannot understand the difference in price. Give this matter your earliest attention oblige
Yours truly
Edison Laboratory.
