May 6th, 1892 De Fr. P. Lozier Esq. 5 City Hall Newark N.J. Dear Sir:- Your favor of the 5th inst came to hand this morning addressed to Mr. Edison and I beg to state that Mr. Edison is away and will not be back for a week or ten days. In regard to Mrs. Mary J. Gill I beg to state that Mr. Edison told me the last time I went to him regarding her that he would do nothing more and she has been told this but does not appear to take any notice of it. Some time ago Mr. Edison sent me to Newark with instructions to pay a certain amount for her Store Bill and two months rent and I went still farther and paid the whole store bill and the rent amounting in all to about forty some dollars and then she kept writing me letters and I went to Mr. Edison again and obtained for her fifty dollars more and Mr. Edison said that it was the last and she was notified to that effect. Yours truly John F. Randolph
