Dear Sir:-
Re French Anticipation of Graphophone Patent for Striating Phonograph Cylinders. Agreeable to the request contained in your note of 12th instant, I enclose herewith copy of the French reference, about which I spoke to you, together with a tracing of the apparatus described.
The reference in question is contained in No. 309 of “La Nature” (issue of May 3rd, 1879), a French monthly Scientific Review, published in Paris. The article is entitled “Les Lanes Parlantes de M. Lambrigot,” and is by E. Hospitalier; it begins on page 349 of the number mentioned.
