Mar. 7, 1892. William Linn, Esq., American Book Co., 105 Arch St., Philadelphia. Pa. Dear Sir:- Your letter of 3rd instant addressed to Mr. Edison in regard to the phonograph was duly received. There is no doubt that the phonograph can be used to much advantage by physicians in the treatment of diseases. The instrument has created a great deal of interest among the medical profession and is at the present time receiving much attention from the members thereof. It has already been used for the purpose which you suggest, and with very satisfactory results. I enclose herewith two newspaper clippings on the subject which may interest you.
