Hon John P. Stockton
Attorney General
Trenton. N. J.
Dear Sir:-
In reply to your favor of the 21st inst, I beg to state that I really do not know what to do in the case
The Company has no assets and will not have any until the Receiver of the North American Phonograph Coy sells its Assets which will be March 15th next, and until that time it will be unknown whether the Edison Phonograph Company is worth anything or not and I see no way out of the trouble except that the law take its course. After the above proceedings as to the closing up of North American Phonograph Coy has taken place something will be known and money doubtless obtained to pay the taxes
Yours truly
Thos A. Edison
R[andolph].
