Dear Sirs:
I am in receipt of your President’s communication of the 20th of January, advising as to the Exhibition which you propose holding next year in honor of Alessandro Volta. The undertaking is a very noble one indeed, and I desire to express to your Association my appreciation of the honor that you purpose [propose] conferring upon me in placing my name upon your roll as an “Honorary Member”, and your request is fully granted.
With best wishes for the success of the Exhibition, and with assurance of my kindest regards, believe me,
