There are no dated entries in this notebook with the exception of one entry for December 1879. All of the entries are by Samuel D. Mott. Included are notes on a preliminary estimate of the cost of a 10ight central station, notes and drawings relating to electricity and electric lighting, and notes and drawings of the telephone. The label on the front cover is marked \"Private\"" and \""S. D. Mott.\"" It is also stamped \""Edison Pioneers 40 West 40th Street New York City.\"" The book contains 284 numbered pages. In addition, two loose pages, dated January 1888, were found in the book.
