This notebook covers the period July 1880. All of the entries are by Edison with the exception of one entry by Francis Upton. Included is a list of possible electrical inventions, two of whichan electric balloon and an electric railroad to pull canal boatsare also drawn by Edison in the book. There are also notes on vacuum experiments with lamps, notes on gold deposits in sand, drawings of an ore separator, and calculations by Upton of the amount of copper needed for a central station system. The label on the front cover is marked \"T A Edison.\"" The book contains 284 numbered pages.
