This notebook covers the period May 1893-May 1894. It was probably used by A. Y. Stewart. A few entries are by Joseph W. Harris. Included are notes and calculations regarding ore assays and other chemical analyses, the preparation of chemical solutions, the testing of bricking compounds for ore concentrates, and lubrication experiments. There are also notes relating to urinalyses of Edison and other experimenters, tables of meter zinc weights, and one page of notes regarding the Waring Electric Co.\'s \"Novak\"" incandescent lamp. The front cover is labeled \""A. Y. S. Chemical Work.\"" The spine is labeled \""139.\"" The pages are unnumbered, and several pages have been removed from the book. Approximately 130 pages have been used.
