The dated entries in this pocket notebook are from February-July 1914. The book was used by Edison to record ideas about business matters, experiments to be tried, and other tasks to be performed. Many of the items have been crossed out. At the beginning of the book are notes about phonograph orders and costs. These are followed by experimental notes relating to disc record development and production, chalk telephones, battery cell regeneration, and automobile batteries and charging stations. The business-related entries include notes about payroll and expenses in the Home Projecting Kinetoscope Dept. and working shifts in the Cylinder Record Dept. Also included are entries pertaining to record dealers and recording artists. In addition, there are notes about sales of Amberola records, kinetoscopes, and batteries, along with comparative data regarding the costs of using Edison batteries and those of competitors.

Among the numerous Edison employees mentioned in the book are master machinist Robert A. Bachman; John V. Miller, Edison\'s brother-in-law and manager of the Edison Chemical Works at Silver Lake; Walter H. Miller, head of the Recording Dept.; Sherwood T. (Sam) Moore, a principal assistant in the development of disc records; and Harold H. Smith, chief of the Battery Research Dept. The inside front cover is inscribed \"Entered final April 28 1919.\"" The pages are unnumbered. Approximately 125 pages have been used."
