Description

The dated entries in this pocket notebook cover the period July-August 1915. The book was used by Edison to record ideas about business matters, experiments to be tried, and other tasks to be performed. Many of the notes have been crossed out and marked \"Ent.\"" Clean transcriptions of some of the entries can be found in PN-15-07-22. The experimental notes pertain primarily to chemicals. There are also notes on disc records and salting experiments. The business-related entries include statistics on record production and phonograph cabinets on order, along with notes about chemical contracts, places for recitals, and various production costs.

Among the numerous Edison employees mentioned in the book are experimenter Charles T. Dally; H. H. Meno Kammerhoff, supervisor of operations at Edison\'s chemical plants in Silver Lake, New Jersey; plant inspector H. G. (Goldie) Goldthwaite; and chemists Victor L. King and Ludwig F. (Louis) Ott. Chemical manufacturers and suppliers mentioned by Edison include Butterworth-Judson Co., Dow Chemical Co., General Chemical Co., Grasselli Chemical Co., and Heyden Chemical Works.
