Description
This folder contains a 5 1/4 inch x 22 1/2 inch sheet with the signatures of individuals, including Edison, who promised to contribute money to "our friend Corey." The introductory remarks are in Edison's hand.
In addition, there is an original specimen of Edison's handwritten telegraph copy made while he was employed as a telegrapher for Western Union Telegraph Co. in Boston. It is written in black ink on yellow paper and is mounted in a gold painted frame. The specimen was preserved by Donald McNicol, historian of the Telegraph Pioneers Society, and presented to the Edison Museum (now Edison National Historical Park) by his widow in 1954.
