Description
This letterbook covers the period August-September 1893. Most of the correspondence is by Edison and Walter S. Mallory, vice-president of the company. All but one of Edison's letters are written in the hand of Mallory. The letters relate to personnel matters, building renovations, equipment, and supplies. Some items pertain to the rebuilding of the narrow gauge railroad at the Ogden works. Also included are specifications, sent to prospective contractors, for the bricking machinery (one example has been selected). The book contains 706 numbered pages and an index. Less than 5 percent of the book has been selected.
