These letters, which cover the years 1883-1898, consists primarily of letters from Mary Valinda Miller (1830-1912) to her daughter, Mina Miller Edison, and her son-in-law, Thomas A. Edison. Several of the letters are also addressed to her daughter, Grace Miller, who was living with the Edisons in 1896. The letters concern the domestic life of Miller and Edison families; visits in Akron, Ohio, and West Orange, New Jersey; and the health of Thomas Edison and other family members, including Mina and her father, Lewis Miller. Some of the letters are written jointly by Mary V. Miller and one or several of her children.
