Title
[D8503ZES], Letter from George Frederick Barker to Thomas Alva Edison, December 27th, 1885
Editor's Notes
Years ago you told me about some effects of mechanical vibration which you had obtained which closely resembled those produced by a shock machine on the body. My friend Dr. Weir Mitchell would like to repeat those experiments in connection with his physiological work, but I have only been able to produce a tingling sensation. I understood you to mean that you "obtained the same violent cramping of the muscles that is produced by a secondary high tension current." Can you tell me the apparatus and conditions I would need to get these results?
