Title
[D8818AMM], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Ezra Torrance Gilliland, June 12th, 1888
Editor's Notes
re your June 6th, re educating young men as Phonograph Inspectors, you are wrong partially in your assumption. I propose to educate mechanics, so each agency could be provided with one mechanic; this mechanic to teach as many men as required at the agency. If I attempt educating directly myself I would require the whole Lab. Thirty good men are all that would be necessary; these could teach a thousand and afterwards be cheap at repair shops &c.
