Various "Bulletins for Agents" related to isolated lighting including the patent dispute with Sawyer-Man. Other topics include electric lighting in Philadelphia, a fire in Cincinatti, and various power stations. This bound volume contains eleven bulletins issued by the Edison Co. for Isolated Lighting during the period May 1885-June 1886. These bulletins contain brief accounts of the activities of the various Edison electric light companies and of developments in the electric lighting field. Included are testimonials from Edison's customers, lists of isolated plants, and reprints of articles from newspapers and journals. There are also printed copies of letters by Edison, Francis R. Upton, and Edward Weston regarding comparative light bulb tests conducted by the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, along with reports of the test results; letters by Upton and William E. Sawyer relating to electric light litigation between Edison and Sawyer; comparisons between the Edison system and competing gas and electric light systems; and descriptions of Edison's exhibits at electrical exhibitions in Paris (1881), Boston (1883), Cincinnati (1883), Louisville (1883), New Orleans (1884) and St. Louis (1885?).. Each bulletin is individually paginated. Bulletins 4, 5, and 13 are missing. Notable: American (NY) as first electricaly printed newspaper; Philadelphia Ledger enlarged; Stieringer data on lighting large areas, expositions, etc. 1881-84; illustrated reports on hotels using Edson system, includng Prospect House, Murray Hill Hotel, Hotel Everett and Dakota (NY); gas disaster stories; theater installations, including Bohemian National Theatre (Prague), Vicker's (Chicago), and newstories from others; Great northwestern Telegraph Co (Montreal, Canada); street lighting (West Chester, PA); actvities of B. Verity & Sons, London; Engineering (London) description of Edison street lighting system in Lawrence, Mass.; Central Stations in Paris (St. Etienne) and Milan (Italy) [CC012025 bull no. 12, p 24);
