Mr. Gilmore
The letter of Mr. Edison used carefully, do not think we need an extra tube, nothing but plain desk telephone, and magnets cable, the operator will not know there is a phonograph connected all will work automatic, the only instructions to be given is when cyindr is full to put on a new one and put the other one in a box for inspection.
You must [illegible] to call after lunch,
July 31 1901 EDISON
This relates to a new method of telephone dispatches instead of telegraph, that Mr. Edison was working on about the time the letter was written-the later end of July 1901
