Mr. Gilmore The letter of Mr. Edison read carfully, donot think we need an extra tube, nothing but plain Desk Telephone, and Magnets[.] Call, the operator will not know there is a phonograph conected all will work automatic, the only instruction to be given is when Cylinder is full to put on a new one and put the other one in box for inspector You must forgoten to call after lunch, July 31 1901 EDISON This relates to a new method of telephone dispatches instead of telegraph, that Mr. Edison was working on about the time the letter was written-the later end of July 1901
