Birmingham, Ala., May 2, 1901 Mr. Thos A. Edison, Orange, N.J. Dear Mr. Edison:- I wrote to Mr. Dick from Pittsburg a week or so ago asking him to be good enough to advise me when he thought you would be ready for me to visit you again, to see the crushing machinery at work and the new magnet in operation. I asked him to be good enough to wire me to Hotel Shenley, but I have not heard from him. I shall be much obliged if you would write to men to the Auditorium Annex in Chicago, saying when it will be convenient for you for me to visit you again. I must leave New York on the 12th of June so that I hope to complete my report before that date. Would you be good enough to ask Mr. McCreath to analyze for me the separated ores and gangue and keep me samples that I may check the analyses by our own works chemist when I return home. Your kind reply will greatly oblige, Yours faithfully, E. Windsor Richards
