[TAE Marginalia] >Don't bother with the Clay E<
New York Dec 6th 1901
Thomas A. Edison, Esq.,
Orange, N.J.
Dear Edison:-
Enclosed find letter received this morning in answer to my letter asking him to send two or three lbs. of clay from the mine. Of course I only wanted to find out whether there is any clay there or not. Either I or some one else would have to go to see whether there is a bushel or several miles before doing anything, and it was simply to save the trouble of running and hunting, I wrote him. Can you make any suggestions.
Yours truly,
W. Preston
