Thomas A. Edison, Esq., Laboratory, West Orange, N.J. Dear Sir:- Opt. G.F. reports: New York, Friday, Sept. 18th, 1903 In compliance with instructions, I proceeded to West Orange, N.J., accompanied by Operatives J.W., J.J. O'S., and G.W.C., arriving there at 12:30 P.M. I was stationed with Opt. J.W. to patrol the main entrance and vicinity, Operatives J.J.O'S and G.W.C. being stationed at the lower gate. During the day several striking pickets were in the vicinity, but no attempt was made by them to molest or interfere with the employees upon entering or leaving the works. The operatives familiarized themselves with the faces of the pickets so they could be identified in case of trouble. Nothing of importance transpired during the day and at 6:20 P.M. we withdraw. Reports of Opts. J.W., J.J.O'S. and G.W.C. are incorporated in the above. Yours truly, Pinkerton's National Detective Agency by Prof A. Pinkerton Reported, New York, 9/19/1903
