- Editor's Notes
- Received TAE's of 10th -- will conform to his request re Brequet but don't expect much sympathy as he is Bell's manufacturer -- Cornelius Roosevelt (Bell's agent in France) informs Beetle that Bell took out a new patent on the 8th in Washington and the 12th in Paris -- Edison should procure patents in the US and Europe for his own protection and not describe publicly until patents secured -- will send extract from French patent law which a literal translation of might meant that it would kill TAE electric pen patent and compromise telephone and phonograph patents -- giving attention to patents from necessity not choice -- may have to manufacture in Belgium to protect patent Brandon acknowledges situation is serious -- hopes to show progress in pen matters soon -- still hasn't heard from Puskas
