- Title
- [D7903ZCF], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Engineering and Mining Journal, March 17th, 1879
- Editor's Notes
- Draft letter to editor re: microphone. Response to claims for Clerac published in Teleg Jrnl, London. "The fact that Clerac or any other person discovered the variability in the resistance of carbon to pressure before myself has nothing to do with the microphone controversy. I claim and no one has denied that I was the first person to take advantage of this property and apply it to acousitcs." Then denies that Clerac discovered this property because "his tubes will not do at the present time what he claims they did many years ago....The whole thing is an afterthought on the part of Hughes."
