Re: Phono case 174. Pat Office says flywheel used to obtain uniform motion isn't an invention. Extensive marg: "You can tell Patent Of that if they desire to throw out the claim they may do so, but that it cost a large amount of money & expense to develop the fact that the infinitessimal friction of the shaft produced wrong intonations of the voice which was corrected by an abnormally heavy flywheel....." [continues; large mass needed to make phono work well, while other applications use wind vane or other means of uniform motion.....]
