Title
[D7941ZDN], Letter from Edward Hibberd Johnson to Charles Batchelor, Thomas Alva Edison, August 18th, 1879
Editor's Notes
Receiver: after several days non-use, new insts work OK-not loud-but "in good solid dog trot style." Old ones worked better but then fade. Slowly bringing White around to new style; didn't want to plant doubts with talk of predecessor's failings. TAE can best choose which style. Transmitter: better than Blake but often need readjustment. Wants to open small mach shop for repairs, tools etc. Did you give 500 order to Bergmann? "I have no interest in that little Dutchman." Various news articles; will deny "soft impeachment" of Jrnl Teleg that he's TAE's representative. Will take Batch's letter to Manchester & try to see "Old Folks." Saw 200 mile artificial cable-in a-box that would buy for TAE if had $$. How about photos? Wants one of Mrs E for many inquiries abt her. [Mrs Edison]
