- Editor's Notes
- Vexed at TAE not answering letters; if no reply to this, will recommend Co. supply shorthand man for you. Trans tests. Bell Co has entrenched Blake trans at Manchester, so "decided to attack." Successful tests over some noisy PO wires; many important witnesses. Test with Bell magneto on long lines; EMG superior. Good men in L'pool already tied to Bell. Head-to-head tests with Bell there: "won the day" & converted civic leaders. Subscriptions flowing into London Co. Want 2500 phones for London & provinces. Wrote Bergmann to see TAE about getting orders; EHJ will loan him $$ to expand shop. Question is what trans to use; favors lampblack button ("the only true transmitter") despite cost. Less sensitive than pinpoint trans but more reliable. Gouraud & White agree. Suggests repeater for receiver.
