- Sends patentees manual by Co lawyer J. Johnson. Going to court to stop carbon infring; will claim broad principle of varying resistance. Send everything concerning Hughes/Preece. Hopes to drive Bell Co from Europe. Small carbon point trans not good over high induction wires. Instructed by Co board to cable "want only old transmitters." Trying for switchboard pat. M'chester, L'pool & private lines MUST have clockwork machines--they transmit long lists & can't simultaneously crank & write.
