- [D8028A], Letter from George Edward Gouraud to Thomas Alva Edison, December 21st, 1880
- Editor's Notes
- Called upon by reps of French gov't to solicit TAE entry at 1881 Paris Electrical Congress. Played it cool "so as not to show too much eagerness." They urge your participation; you may expect formal invitation from Fr govt. Don't make too much difficulty; essential that you participate in 1st exclusively electrical exhib; it offers world-wide prominence. I will pay 1/2 expenses and furnish expert; maybe EHJ? Put someone in charge NOW to begin making models of all electrical inventions. It would be helpful to you if I were appointed member of American Commission.
