- Yours of 9th rcd., re: Oregon sands. Please give cost and royalty for machine. Marg: "The cost would depend upon the size a 150 ton per day machine would cost there about $3500. I should want about 8 or 10 cents per ton royalty if the sand was rich & less if poor. With a pair of mules & 1 man 150 tons could be run through daily if brought to the machine the cost of running through would not exceed $5.00 per day. So the profits will depend on the amount & richness of the sand."
