Title
[D8048ZCC], Letter from Enos M Barton to Thomas Alva Edison, April 7th, 1880
Editor's Notes
RR gateman refused to honor ticket so couldn't get to Menlo to talk about French teleph biz. Enclose cable rcd today from Bailey. Don't understand what he means about people enjoying fruits of others' labors. Executing contract with Mays/Banque Egyptienne was probably best thing. Don't have high hopes for success. Bailey devoted to your interests and worked hard on telephone in order to get piece of EL. All indications are that Harjest "is a white sort of a mnan"---best one to have your power atty.
