- Title
- [D8049ZBJ], Letter from Edward Hibberd Johnson to Thomas Alva Edison, March 4th, 1880
- Editor's Notes
- More on Gouraud & English situation. Gouraud refuses 1) to accept our proposal; 2) submit his own proposal through you. His money interests unharmed as he has not put a dollar in the Co.; only his vanity is injured. Seems determined to defy you, claiming his power is abosolute & irrevocable for 5 years. Would help us to have copy of your contract with him. Can you control him? If not, can you act independently? If not that, then absolute ruin in England & you will be sued by Glasgow parties. Staying with wealthy, honorable parties (Waterhouse, etc) only way to success.
