- Enclosed [exchange between White & Preece follows] explains itself. "You will observe who it is that hoold this man Preece in check. These little items indicate where your interest lies." Preece cunningly worded his retraction so as to refer later to this correspondence as admission from us that carbon trans is not a form of microphone. Will reply that "Our transmitter being originally a microphone we could not `abandon it'..."
