Title
[D8049ZHE], Letter from George Edward Gouraud to Thomas Alva Edison, September 23rd, 1880
Editor's Notes
London Tel Co board reluctantly agreed at extraordinary meeting to negotiate new agreement with Edison reversionary trust, with eye to liquidating the Co. I will open negotiations in Renshaw's absence. Explained that parties in trust would agree to equitable division. Details. My worst suppostitions about White & Bouverie realized. Will send you copy of memorandum which is "most bare faced expression of a most unfair intention" of the board. They intended to sell their Edison shares to the United Co, thus leaving you to settle alone with the Co.
