[D8049ZIH], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Edward Pleydell Bouverie, 1880
Editor's Notes
Thanks for your official & personal communications received from EHJ. Sorry I can't come to ENgland; EHJ will explain why ELight makes extended absence from laboratory impossible. Have given EHJ all the models, papers and info I am able, and am sure you have impregnable position in patent disclaimer. Regret pats not more carefully drawn up. Regret I can't give more help in Post Office matter, as this appears to be a question of law. "As to the personal element insupring the pursuit of the Edison Company by Preece & associates I think yo9u have taken exactly the right position, a bold and straightforward onslaught is precisely what they cannot survive;" strongly favor this approach over bargaining.
