- On Auburn Button Co. letterhead. "Dear Sir: Referring to our letters of the 8th and 19th of August and your reply to the former We enclose with this a sample of stock with fuse[?] of metal in it as it came from the die which has been injured by it. We also send you by Express today to 104 Gocreek[?] as requested in yours of the 16th of Augt, a small package of our button sock as we use it and in it will probably be some small pieces of metal. The problem we wish to solve is how to remove these before it is made in sheets by our steam rolls. Hoping to hear soon we are &c"
