- Title
- [D8106F], Letter from Baur and Regel to Thomas Alva Edison, May 5th, 1881
- Editor's Notes
- "Your favor 29th is recvd.- Mr Andrew Fitzpatrick instructs us, to lay his idea before you, depending on your "Point d'honneur" to do right by him, if the material proves the proper stuff.- Mr Fitzpatrick merely suggests the _material_; your genius is to device the shape & form of application. We enclose sample of Asbestos & hope, it will suit. It is certainly not new[s?] to you, that in olden times, bodies destined for cremation, were wrapped in Asbestos mantles.- Mr Fitzpatrick uses an Asbestos wig since a long time & no signs of combustion." On Baur & Regel letterhead. ("Flour merchants and millers' agents")
