Title
[D8120T], Letter from Edwin M Fox to Thomas Alva Edison, January 25th, 1881
Editor's Notes
Can you meet Friday with John Townsend and myself. Yestdy's Tribune had long account of Townsend's "gutter conductor" which eliminates need to tear up street. "The interview I ask is one of considerable importance in the movements of your Company to get the right from the `City Fathers' to lay the wires. The terms they seek to dictate to your company for the franchise are simply preposterous. I think I can on Friday show you the way clear, to get the franchise." Marg: "Going to W tonight may not be back till Saturday. Can you not drop down Sunday pm for an hour or so."
