Title
[D8133ZAP], Letter from Edward Hibberd Johnson to Thomas Alva Edison, November 8th, 1881
Editor's Notes
Rcvd letter fr Upton wrt change in socket devised by Bergmann. "This in my judgement is radically wrong." Once set down a standard, stick to it. Faure bought 1000 B lamps and 1000 sockets and ask what price for 10K lamps per month. Says Crookes has a new lamp, "the carbon being extraordinarily tough." Insull will explain abt lamp factory assessment. "If you approve our scheme of a preliminary syndicate to be formed immediately on the Demonstrations here--you will be placed in large funds by Christmas." Succeeded today in getting subway rights. Rethinking iso business and will probably organize it after all.
